VISITOR FIELDWORK

A record sheet, not a treasure map

Use this printable sheet from a lawful public viewpoint. It records evidence and access separately so a visual resemblance never becomes an unsupported location claim.

PUBLIC VIEWPOINTS & CONDUCT

Leave no production footprint

Photograph from where you may stand

Use pavements, signed rights of way and managed visitor areas. Do not cross a gate, hedge, drive or field boundary for a better match; a public view can still be inconclusive.

Keep people and work undisturbed

Do not block roads or entrances, stage a reconstruction, photograph through private windows, or identify residents. Ask before photographing inside a venue or making a person the subject.

Private property stays private

A screen appearance, map pin or archive note creates no right of entry. Respect signs, closures, livestock, services and requests from owners or staff without argument.

Drones need a separate plan

Check current CAA rules and airspace before every flight. The CAA requires permission from the person or organisation controlling the property used for take-off and landing; never launch from a filming location by assumption.
